Short Term Initiatives (2017-2020)
  • Promote curricula that include the necessary data science skills
  • Encourage corporations and start-ups to provide boot camps, on-line courses, internships or programmes that foster data science expertise
  • Promote technology curricula to include designing and managing applications and solutions in IoT, machine-to-machine, sensor networks, data warehouse and management, and software development such as geographic information system
Medium Term Initiatives (2021-2025)
  • Assess the possibility in developing curricula focusing on data science, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, visualisation and business intelligence
  • Assess the possibility to promote and cultivate job and internship opportunities for university graduates and data science talents
  • Provide incentives to promote the study of ICT related fields
Long Term Initiatives (2026-2030+)
  • Continue to evaluate curricula on their effectiveness in developing talent for smart city development
  • Continue to strengthen partnerships with private sector and public institutions to promote and cultivate job and internship opportunities in ICT fields

  • Assess the feasibility of integrating 1823 with www.gov.hk
  • Use of digital persona for government e-services
  • Explore the feasibility of including private sector services in the OSS
  • Develop an engagement model enabling private sector to provide services via OSS
  • Consider piloting walk-in centres

  • Evaluate continuous learning programmes and eLearning for individuals in STEM
  • Evaluate training and workshops for civil servants for creative thinking and design and implement relevant training programmes for civil servants
  • Establish an on-line platform to support sharing of innovative, creative and user generated content to showcase Hong Kong’s people’s creativity and talent
  • Implement policies to support STEM and creative innovation in school curricula
